Terms of Service

RainDay Deals is operated by StanHattie LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By using this service you agree to these terms.

1. The service

RainDay Deals connects local businesses to nearby customers through weather-triggered discounts. We do not own, operate, or vouch for any business listed on the platform; we provide the marketplace.

2. Accounts

Accounts are passwordless. Sign-in is via one-time email link or a device-bound passkey (WebAuthn). You are responsible for the security of your email account and any device that holds your passkeys.

3. Deals and redemption

Deals are time-limited and have per-event redemption caps. We are not responsible if a deal sells out before you redeem it. Specific deal terms (dine-in only, valid days, etc.) are set by each business and are shown on the deal page.

4. Fees

Customer use is free. Businesses pay a 15% platform fee on the discounted deal price, charged at redemption. Payments flow through Stripe. Stripe's terms apply to all card transactions.

5. Refunds

If a business does not honor a valid deal code, contact us at support@raindaydeals.com. We will refund the platform's portion if the dispute is verified.

6. Acceptable use

You may not abuse the platform: no fake accounts to multi-claim a single deal, no scraping for commercial use, no attempts to bypass rate limiting or auth.

7. Account termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that show signs of fraud. Businesses that repeatedly fail to honor deals will be removed and may be permanently banned.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, accuracy of weather data, or specific deal outcomes. Weather APIs (Tomorrow.io, OpenWeather) can be wrong; we do not guarantee a deal will activate the moment the weather changes.

9. Limitation of liability

Our total liability to you is capped at the platform fees you paid us in the 90 days before the claim arose. We are not liable for any consequential, special, or indirect damages.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa. Disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts of Iowa.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or a banner on the site at least 14 days before they take effect.
